Frequently asked about snowmobile safaris
Do I need previous snowmobile driving experience?
No previous snowmobile driving experience is required. Before the tour begins, our guides will provide clear instructions on how to operate the snowmobile safely and confidently. We will make sure you feel comfortable before heading out on the trail.
Can children ride on a snowmobile?
Children who are at least 140 cm tall may ride as a passenger on a snowmobile, subject to the guide’s assessment and safety conditions. Children under 140 cm must travel in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile together with a supervising adult.
During the tour, it is usually possible for supervising adults to switch places, allowing both parents, for example, to experience driving a snowmobile as well as riding in the sled with the children.
What should I wear for a snowmobile safari?
We recommend dressing in layers to stay comfortable in changing winter conditions. For the snowmobile safari, we provide a thermal overall, winter boots, gloves, and a balaclava. We suggest wearing a warm base layer and additional clothing underneath the overall depending on the weather. On particularly cold days, it is a good idea to wear your own winter clothing under the provided gear for extra warmth.
Is a driving license required to drive a snowmobile?
Yes, a valid driving licence is required to drive a snowmobile. Drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a licence that entitles them to drive a car (Category B or an equivalent licence that is valid in Finland). You need to have your licence with you.
If you are unsure whether your licence is accepted, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to advise you.
What happens if there is heavy snowfall or unusual weather?
Snowmobile safaris operate in most winter weather conditions, including snowfall. However, if weather conditions are considered unsafe due to severe storms, extremely poor visibility, or other exceptional circumstances, we may need to modify, reschedule, or cancel the activity. Safety is always our top priority, and we will inform you as soon as possible if any changes are necessary.
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
If your tour includes lunch, snacks, or refreshments, please let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions when making your booking. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and provide suitable alternatives whenever possible. To ensure we can make the necessary arrangements, it is important that we receive this information in advance.
